Free slot alerts are coming to SlotDost

We are building a small, trusted network of applicant-reporters first — because an alert you cannot trust is worse than no alert. When alerts switch on, every one will be community-reported, independently confirmed, and labelled with how fresh it is.

How SlotDost will work

1

A dost sees a slot

An applicant spots an opening on the official portal and reports it in seconds — consulate, visa type, earliest date.

2

Another dost confirms it

An alert goes out only after an independent confirmation. Unconfirmed sightings are never broadcast as fact.

3

You book it yourself

On the official portal, with your own account. We never log in for you, never book for you, never hold your credentials.

Consulates we cover

Guides, official wait-time context and (soon) alerts for all five U.S. consular posts in India.

Guides that save you from expensive mistakes

“Access Limitation” error

What triggers the portal's block, what it costs you, and how to recover safely.

How slot releases work

Bulk drops, cancellations, and why OFC and interview dates move separately.

Ghost slots

Why a date you can see vanishes before you can book it — and what to do next.

Rescheduling without traps

Your change allowance is finite — how to spend it only on dates that matter.

OFC vs consular interview

Two appointments, two jobs — what happens at each, and in what order.

Check slots safely

Human-paced checking, no bots, no shared passwords — and how to spot the scams.

Founding reporters get the first seats

Alerts will only ever be as good as the people reporting. We are slowly recruiting about 30 reliable founding reporters across the five consulates — accuracy earns the levels Dost → Super Dost → Super Dost Star, and confirmed alerts credit you by name.

Our promise, in plain words

Is SlotDost really free?

Yes — alerts, guides and tools are free, and there is no booking fee. SlotDost is community-powered and free to use.

Will you ever ask for my visa portal password?

Never. Not in a form, not in a chat, not through any extension. Anyone asking in our name is a scammer — report them in the community group.

Do you book appointments for people?

No. Booking bots and credential-based booking are what get applicants' appointments cancelled. You always book yourself, on the official portal.

Are you affiliated with the U.S. embassy or the official portal?

No. SlotDost is an independent, community-powered information service, run by applicants, for applicants.
